Monaco has officially stepped into the holiday season. After two evenings of illumination ceremonies attended by the Princely Family, the Principality now glows from Fontvieille to Monte-Carlo, its streets dressed in bright, elegant displays that signal the start of a month-long celebration lasting until 4 January 2026.
One of Monaco’s most cherished traditions has also returned: the towering 18-metre Christmas tree on Place du Casino. This iconic symbol stands surrounded by sparkling decorations, while the façade of the Casino de Monte-Carlo will come alive each evening with festive light projections, starting 19 December.
The heart of the celebrations, however, is the annual Christmas Village on Port Hercule, opening on 5 December. This year’s theme, In the Land of Teddies, invites visitors into a whimsical world inspired by childhood wonder. From 11 a.m. daily, guests can explore charming wooden chalets filled with treats, festive delicacies and artisanal gift ideas. The village also promises plenty of family entertainment, including a Ferris wheel with sweeping harbour views, a classic carousel, a slide and the beloved Christmas-tree ride. Throughout the season, roaming performers, musical parades and stilt walkers will add an extra touch of enchantment.
Another eagerly awaited attraction is the ice rink at Stade Nautique Rainier III. Reopening on 5 December, it will remain accessible until 1 March 2026 — a welcome extension for skating enthusiasts. The rink offers unlimited sessions for €8, with free admission for children under five and special seasonal passes for local residents.
With its lights, festivities and winter activities, Monaco once again transforms into a radiant holiday destination, offering joyful moments for families, residents and visitors alike.
