Monaco is beginning preparations for one of the biggest events on its annual calendar. Work for the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show starts on Saturday 29 August, almost a month before the international yachting event opens at Port Hercule from 23 to 26 September.
The extensive installation will affect several areas around the harbour, including Quai des États-Unis, Avenue J.F. Kennedy and Route de la Piscine, as well as neighbouring quays. From 7 September, operations will also extend to Quai Antoine Ier.
With temporary structures and exhibition infrastructure moving into the port, residents and commuters should expect changes to everyday access. Parking restrictions, pedestrian diversions and temporary road closures will be introduced progressively throughout the preparation period.
One of the most significant changes concerns Route de la Piscine, which will be completely closed from 14 to 30 September while the area operates as an active construction zone. Some morning access will nevertheless be maintained in the Portier-to-Quai Antoine Ier direction during peak hours, with exceptions immediately before and after the show.
Measures are also being introduced to limit disruption to daily life around the port. These include temporary arrangements for nearby school drop-offs and alternative access for deliveries.
For Monaco’s many scooter and motorcycle users, a dedicated temporary parking area will be available on Avenue de la Quarantaine from 7 September.
The restrictions are part of the considerable logistical operation required to transform Port Hercule into the setting for the Monaco Yacht Show, which annually brings together major names from the international superyacht industry.
Once the four-day event concludes on 26 September, dismantling will begin and public areas will reopen gradually. According to the current schedule, normal access around the affected areas should be fully restored by 8 October.
For residents, workers and visitors travelling through the port district, allowing extra time and checking access arrangements will be advisable throughout September.
