The Monaco Yacht Show is giving yacht design a more prominent place at Port Hercule with the introduction of its new Designer Gallery, bringing leading naval architects and creative studios closer to the superyachts they help bring to life.
Replacing the former Yacht Design & Innovation Hub, the new space marks a significant change to the show’s layout. Rather than separating designers across different exhibition areas, the Designer Gallery will bring them together on one continuous platform, partly positioned over the port’s rock formations and close to the main superyacht and tender docks.
The idea is to create a more natural connection between concept and finished yacht. Visitors will be able to move from the docks to the designers behind some of the industry’s most ambitious projects, gaining a closer look at the creative thinking that shapes contemporary superyachting.
Among the international names participating are Espen Oeino International, Philippe Briand and Pininfarina, reinforcing Monaco Yacht Show’s position as a meeting point not only for yacht owners, shipyards and brokers, but also for the designers defining the next generation of vessels.
Technology will add another dimension to the experience. Nearby, the MYS Immersive Experience by VBH will allow visitors to explore yacht projects through three-dimensional virtual walkthroughs, including concepts that have yet to be built.
Its “Sense by VBH” area goes further, using technology to recreate elements of the onboard environment, from lighting and acoustics to climate systems. It offers visitors an opportunity to experience aspects of a yacht long before construction is complete.
By placing design closer to the heart of the action, the Monaco Yacht Show is making the creative process a more visible part of the event. The Designer Gallery also reflects how the modern yacht show is evolving: beyond displaying spectacular vessels, it is increasingly about understanding the ideas, technology and people behind them.
