Monaco, December 13, 2023 – In a sparkling display of generosity and holiday spirit, the 21st Auction of Action Innocence Monaco, held at the iconic Hotel de Paris, raised an impressive 111,000 euros for the noble cause of protecting children on the internet. The highlight of the evening was the auctioning of 22 uniquely designed Christmas trees, including an entirely edible chocolate masterpiece, which alone fetched one of the highest bids at 8,000 euros.
Crafted by the skilled patissiers of Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the 26kg chocolate tree symbolized not just the festive spirit but also the deep commitment of the Monegasque community towards charitable causes. The tree, accompanied by a luxurious package including a night's stay in a sea view junior suite and cocktails at the American Bar, was one of the stars of the auction. Equally impressive was the Cova Monte Carlo Christmas Tree, adorned with the iconic Panettone, which raised the same amount.
Organized in the grand lobby of Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the auction presented an array of Christmas trees designed by renowned entities like Chopard, Cartier, and other leading hotels and designer houses in Monaco. The event's proceeds are dedicated to Action Innocence Monaco, an organization established in 2002. With its team of educators and psychologists, the association has been instrumental in spreading awareness about responsible digital tool usage among children and parents, reaching nearly a million individuals in schools across the Principality and France.
Vice-president of the association, Nick Danziger, emphasized the evolving challenges of internet safety, highlighting the increasing prevalence of cyberbullying. The auction was not just a fundraiser but also a platform to reinforce the message of online vigilance.
The evening, graced by the presence of Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco and conducted by auctioneer Julien Brunie from Christie’s, was a testament to Monaco's enduring spirit of community and care, particularly in safeguarding the well-being of its youngest members.
