The Exotic Garden of Monaco is preparing to welcome visitors once again, with reopening scheduled for the end of October 2025. Closed since 2020 for an ambitious program of renovation and safety improvements, the site has undergone extensive structural work. This includes the restoration of five walkways and the stabilization of the garden’s natural rock faces - measures designed to enhance the safety and longevity of the historic site.
During the closure, the Garden has remained active online, sharing daily images and descriptions of rare and remarkable plants from its renowned collection.
Adjacent to the Garden, the Botanical Centre remains open to the public. Established in the 1960s and relocated to a new glass-and-iron facility in 2017, the Centre houses one of the world’s most important collections of cacti and succulents. More than 10,000 plants - 85 percent of which are protected species - are maintained by a team of seven specialized gardeners.
The Centre, inaugurated by H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Mayor Georges Marsan, serves both as a conservation facility and a propagation center for plants destined for future displays. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with free admission.
The reopening of the Exotic Garden will mark the return of a treasured botanical landmark, long admired for its scientific value, dramatic setting, and exceptional biodiversity.
