MONACO — On May 12, 2025, a renewed commitment to safer nights in Monaco was sealed at Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo, where Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), and Camille Gottlieb, President of Be Safe Monaco, reaffirmed their partnership for the upcoming summer season. Joined by the Monegasque Red Cross, this collaboration underscores Monaco’s dedication to ensuring its vibrant nightlife remains both festive and secure.

Since its inception in 2017, Be Safe Monaco has provided a shuttle service to safely transport patrons of Monaco’s nightlife venues who are unable to drive, covering the principality and neighboring communes. Launched in April 2024, the partnership with SBM enhances this initiative during the peak summer season. Following a successful first year, SBM will again deploy two salaried drivers to operate Be Safe’s shuttles from midnight to 5 a.m., seven days a week, from July 1 to August 31, 2025. Last summer, these drivers safely escorted 355 individuals home, a testament to the program’s impact.

Be Safe Monaco extends its shuttle services to SBM’s nightlife establishments, including Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo, Amazónico Monte-Carlo, La Rascasse, Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, COYA Monte-Carlo, and Selva Monte-Carlo. The association covers driver insurance, conducts educational campaigns on the dangers of drunk driving for SBM’s seasonal staff, and provides a BOSS Sécurité agent to ensure smooth operations during transports.

In a novel contribution, the Monegasque Red Cross, represented by Director General Yann Bertrand and board member Dominique Martet, presented SBM with 3,000 silicone drink covers on May 12. Designed by French company DrinkWatch, these reusable, adjustable covers aim to prevent tampering with drinks and reduce spills. Distributed across SBM’s nightlife venues, they add a layer of protection for patrons, aligning with the Red Cross’s focus on health and prevention.

This initiative, supported by Charlotte Marsan of Be Safe Monaco, Virginie Cotta, SBM’s Corporate Social Responsibility Secretary General, and directors of SBM’s nightlife venues, reflects a collective resolve to preserve Monaco’s reputation as a safe haven for celebration. By combining transportation, education, and innovative safety tools, the partnership sets a model for responsible revelry.
