The Prince's Palace glowed pink, marking a significant moment in the global "Pink October" campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer. The initiative, led by Pink Ribbon Monaco under the honorary presidency of H.S.H. Princess Charlene, highlights the principality's ongoing commitment to health advocacy and prevention.
Established in 2011, Pink Ribbon Monaco was the first association in the region to launch the annual illumination of the principality's iconic landmarks during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This tradition, part of the "October Rose" operation, has become a powerful symbol of collective action against the disease, emphasizing the critical role of early detection and support for those affected.
The association's mission reaches beyond symbolism. Dedicated to promoting health and gender equality, Pink Ribbon Monaco serves as an active member of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women's Rights (DFM). It works in close partnership with the Prince's Government, the National Council, and the Princess Grace Hospital Centre to strengthen prevention and sensitization efforts surrounding breast cancer.
