In a significant advancement for the Principality’s healthcare infrastructure, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène of Monaco formally inaugurated the newly renovated maternity wing at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) on Thursday, April 16. The event marks a milestone in the hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing state-of-the-art medical facilities for families.
The inauguration began in the late morning with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque within the obstetric emergency department. The Princely Couple was joined by a delegation of high-ranking officials, including Minister of State H.E. M. Christophe Mirmand, CHPG Director Mme Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges, and Professor Bruno Carbonne, Head of the Maternity Department.
Following the ceremony, the delegation conducted a thorough tour of the redesigned spaces. The modernization project introduced several key facilities designed to be both functional and reassuring for expectant parents. Among the new additions are a double parental suite, a specialized bathing room, and updated delivery rooms. The renovation also encompasses a new obstetric emergency room and several additional suites within the obstetric block, all specifically adapted to meet the evolving needs of mothers and their companions.

This renovation is part of a broader, family-centered vision championed by the Princely Couple. Coming just days after the opening of the Parent-Child Unit, these upgrades allow the CHPG to finalize its Mother-Child Hub. The initiative establishes a comprehensive and innovative care pathway that prioritizes the comfort and medical safety of families in Monaco.
The completion of this hub ensures that the CHPG remains at the forefront of maternal health, offering a modernized environment that integrates advanced medical technology with a personalized approach to patient care.
