For the second year in a row, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, accompanied by Gareth Wittstock, attended the charity gala organized by Provale, the national syndicate of female and male rugby players.
In her capacity as president of the Monegasque Rugby Federation, Princess Charlene delivered an emotional address that underscored the hidden costs of athletic life. “Behind every career, there are years of commitment, sacrifice and dedication,” she said. “And we also know how much the transition after a sporting career demands courage and support.”
Under the leadership of Malik Hamadache, Provale operates daily to ensure that the spirit of teamwork does not end with the final whistle. Whether the challenges involve health, professional retraining or financial hardship, the organization supports athletes through the most fragile periods of their journeys.

A highlight of the evening was an auction featuring more than 20 exceptional lots. The princely couple generously donated tickets to the final of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia and VIP invitations to the next Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
All proceeds from the event will be devoted to aiding current and former male and female rugby players facing sudden ruptures in their lives.
