A vibrant tradition will bloom anew this Thursday as the Principality welcomes the 8th edition of the Concours International de Roses Nouvelles de Monaco.
The event, which centers on the official selection of exceptional new rose varieties, will be staged at the historic Roseraie Princesse Grace. Organized by the Association des Amis de la Roseraie Princesse Grace, a body presided over by Yves Piaget, the competition is a partnership with the Direction de l’Aménagement Urbain (DAU) of the Prince’s Government.
This year’s edition is a testament to global horticultural ingenuity, featuring 16 breeders representing eight different countries. They will be contending for the competition's top honors.

In preparation for the judging, the 70 competing rose varieties have been meticulously cultivated since November. The roses have been raised in the DAU greenhouses located in Saint-Laurent d’Eze, where they are nurtured under identical, rigorously controlled conditions. This environment is designed to ensure perfect equity, allowing the natural qualities of each entry to be judged fairly against its peers.
