The iconic Monte-Carlo Casino has ventured into uncharted waters, unveiling its first-ever presence beyond Monaco's borders. On November 14, 2024, the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) marked a milestone by inaugurating a casino aboard the luxury cruise ship *Crystal Symphony*. This new chapter represents a bold step for the casino’s storied history, blending its legendary Belle Époque charm with the sophistication of a high-end cruise experience.
Spanning 110 square meters, the onboard casino reflects the elegance synonymous with Monte-Carlo. Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and CEO of SBM, described the expansion as “a symbolically powerful act,” emphasizing its significance in opening doors to new international markets. The *Crystal Symphony* casino includes both gaming tables and slot machines, offering passengers a taste of the excitement that has defined Monte-Carlo for over 160 years.
The grand unveiling took place in Venice, Italy, where SBM’s International Development Director, Pascal Camia, expressed pride in bringing their expertise to Crystal Cruises. “This collaboration allows us to deliver the same exceptional gaming experience that has made Monte-Carlo a global benchmark in entertainment,” Camia shared.
Among the dignitaries at the launch were Manfredi Lefebvre, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group, Geoffrey Kent, Founder of Abercrombie & Kent, and Philippe Allavena, SBM’s Secretary General of Gaming.
The success aboard the Crystal Symphony is just the beginning. The second Monte-Carlo Casino at sea is set to debut on December 18, 2024, aboard the *Crystal Serenity*. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this ship will feature three gaming tables and thirty-two slot machines, promising passengers an equally captivating experience.
Monte-Carlo’s expansion into luxury cruising highlights its commitment to innovation while preserving the timeless appeal that has made it a symbol of elegance and excitement for generations.
