In the glamorous heart of the Riviera, Monte-Carlo Fashion Week has once again proven that elegance and ethics are no longer mutually exclusive. From April 22 to 26, the Principality played host to the 13th edition of this ever-growing fashion rendezvous, organised by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode, under the vision of founder Federica Nardoni Spinetta.
What began as a niche platform in 2013 has evolved into a dynamic fusion of creativity, sustainability, and international influence. With stunning runway shows held at the iconic Monaco Yacht Club and a robust calendar of conferences and panels, this year’s edition pushed eco-conscious fashion to centre stage.
One of the highlights? The return of Federica’s own label, Beach & Cashmere Monaco, which celebrated its 20-year milestone with a powerful tribute to ocean preservation. The brand unveiled repurposed couture—think skirts from recycled sails and hand-painted dresses crafted with reclaimed materials—demonstrating that responsible fashion can still dazzle.
Meanwhile, luxury houses and emerging designers alike turned heads. Italian label Collini Milano, Czech designer Jiri Kalfar, and a special Japanese guest reflected the event’s global reach. The Fashion Awards ceremony featured a runway show by Roberto Cavalli and honoured actress Kelly Rutherford as this year’s Fashion Icon.
Yet the boldest statement was philosophical: fashion must evolve. With awards like the Positive Change Prize going to sustainability trailblazers like Renzo Rosso of OTB Group, the event reinforced its mission—to inspire dialogue and innovation for a better future.
Monte-Carlo may be known for its glamour, but its fashion week proves that the real luxury is designing with purpose.
