The festival will commence on November 21 with an impressive concert by students from the Académie Rainier III, setting a high standard for the events to follow. The opening night will feature the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, renowned for its pioneering Kansas City jazz style, and the Dal Sasso Big Band, which will pay homage to the iconic Chick Corea.
A Diverse Line-Up of Jazz Excellence
The following day, audiences will be treated to the velvety vocals of jazz sensation Dee Dee Bridgewater and the virtuosic saxophone of Stefano di Battista. The festival continues its exploration of jazz with a sensual performance by Ayo and the captivating Mayra Andrade from Cape Verde.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of performances, including a cinematic experience with Louis Malle’s *Ascenseur pour l’échafaud* and a film-concert of Damien Chazelle’s *Whiplash*. The festival will also showcase British pop-funk band Level 42 and the London-based jazz trio Emile Londonien, alongside the Cuban beats of Cinemafunk and Afrobeat rhythms by Seun Kuti.
Celebrating Jazz and Its Many Forms
Additionally, attendees will enjoy a unique instrumental encounter featuring M and Thibault Cauvin, and the enchanting sounds of harpist and vocalist Sophye Soliveau. The festival will be rounded off by the charismatic performances of Stella Cole and crooner Mario Biondi.
