The 65th Monte-Carlo Television Festival concluded in spectacular fashion at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, bringing together international stars, acclaimed creators, and industry leaders for a memorable closing ceremony attended by Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene.
One of the evening’s most anticipated moments was the presentation of the prestigious Crystal Nymph Award to Hollywood legend Kurt Russell. Presented by Princess Charlene, the accolade honors an exceptional career spanning more than six decades across both film and television. Renowned for iconic performances in classics such as Escape from New York, The Thing, Tombstone, and The Hateful Eight, Russell continues to captivate audiences worldwide through major streaming productions including Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and The Madison.
Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the award, Russell warmly thanked the Princely Couple and festival organizers, describing the evening as a truly special experience.
The ceremony also celebrated the next generation of talent, with British actor Matthew Broome receiving the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent. The rising star has gained international recognition through his leading roles in My Fault: London and The Buccaneers.
The festival’s competition showcased the diversity and excellence of global television production. The Palestinian-Israeli co-production Fadia emerged as one of the major winners, taking home Best Film, Best Actress for Yara Jarrar, and the Jury Special Prize. Danish production The Uniform won Best Series, while Italy’s Gomorrah – The Origins received the award for Best Creation.
This anniversary edition also introduced a new Digital category, reflecting the evolving landscape of storytelling and content creation. Alongside the awards, the festival hosted world premieres, industry forums, public events, and thousands of media interviews, reaffirming Monaco’s position as a leading international hub for the television industry.
Closing the festival, Prince Albert II praised the creativity, diversity, and storytelling power that continue to unite audiences across cultures and generations.
