In a gesture underscoring the Principality of Monaco’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international relations, two new Ambassadors - from the Republic of Kenya and the Kingdom of Bahrain - were formally accredited during a diplomatic ceremony held in the Principality.
His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince received the Letters of Credence from Her Excellency Ms. Betty Chebet Cherwon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya, and His Excellency Mr. Essam Abdulaziz Aljassim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The formal presentation, which took place earlier in the day, was followed by meetings with senior officials, including Ms. Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of the Department of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, who acted on behalf of Ms. Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
A working meeting, also attended by Ms. Chloé Leclercq, Project Officer at the Attractiveness Department and head of Monaco Private Label, as well as Mr. Guillaume Rose, Chief Executive Officer of the Monaco Economic Board, provided an opportunity to reaffirm Monaco’s desire to cultivate strong diplomatic and economic ties with Kenya and Bahrain. Topics included the promotion of investment, cultural exchange, and multilateral cooperation.
Later that day, Ms. Caruso-Ravera hosted an official luncheon in honor of the newly appointed envoys at the prestigious Hôtel Hermitage, reflecting the Principality’s tradition of warm diplomatic hospitality.
Ambassador Cherwon is also accredited to Portugal, Serbia, and the Holy See, while Ambassador Aljassim holds concurrent non-resident ambassadorships to the Swiss Confederation, the Holy See, and the Principality of Andorra.
The visit marked an important moment in the evolution of Monaco’s bilateral relations, and highlighted the Principality’s continued engagement in fostering international dialogue and cooperation.
