In an effort to bolster the musical infrastructure of the Principality, a formal reception was held on Friday, July 3, 2026, marking a significant cultural donation to Monaco’s primary conservatory, the Académie Rainier III. The event, hosted within one of the academy's rehearsal rooms located inside the Église Saint-Martin, officially recognized the Club des Résidents Étrangers de Monaco (CREM) for its philanthropic contribution of a new piano.
The instrument is slated to enrich the conservatory’s pedagogical equipment, designed to enhance the instructional environment for students pursuing advanced musical training. To mark the installation, an academy student delivered an inaugural musical performance, demonstrating the acoustic capabilities and range of the new instrument.
The gathering drew a contingent of Monaco’s municipal leadership and cultural administrators. Among those in attendance were Mayor Georges Marsan and Karyn Ardisson Salopek, the eighth deputy in charge of Culture.
The donor organization was represented by Louisette Azzoaglio Levy-Soussan, President of CREM, and Chris Dhondt, the club’s Director. Educational leadership from the conservatory, including Jade Sapolin, Director of the Académie Rainier III, and Jocelyne Vernhet, Assistant Director, were also present.
The Académie Rainier III, overseen by the Monaco City Hall, remains a cornerstone of artistic education in the region, serving hundreds of students across classical, contemporary, and dramatic disciplines. Administrators noted that private civic partnerships, such as this gesture from CREM, continue to play a vital role in supporting the conservatory's specialized educational curricula.
