March marks the beginning of an exciting annual tradition in Monaco—the installation of essential infrastructure for the prestigious Grand Prix events taking place in May.
With spring approaching, the streets of the Principality are gearing up for an action-packed season of racing. The highly anticipated Monaco E-Prix is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, while the 82nd edition of the Formula 1 TAG Heuer Monaco Grand Prix will take over the city from Thursday, May 22, to Sunday, May 25.
A Meticulous Setup
Transforming Monaco’s streets into a world-class racing circuit requires a carefully planned operation. Safety remains a top priority, as does ensuring the smooth running of each event.
Infrastructure installation has already begun, with road resurfacing work initiated in late February. Over the coming weeks, structures related to race safety, broadcasting, advertising, and spectator access will be put in place across key locations in the city.
Phased Installation and Traffic Adjustments
The preparations are being carried out in stages to minimize disruption: March 3: Work begins in the Port Hercule area. March 25: Installation shifts to Monte-Carlo. To accommodate these changes, temporary traffic regulations—including detours, one-way routes, and parking restrictions—will be implemented. Additionally, secure pedestrian walkways will be installed, with stewards on hand to manage foot traffic in high-risk areas.
Once the Grand Prix festivities conclude, dismantling of temporary structures is set to be completed by June 22. Until then, the Principality will continue its transformation into one of the most iconic racing circuits in the world.
