Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene participated in the Leadership Meeting 2025 of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, held in the principality. The high-level gathering, attended by representatives from 45 national societies across Europe and Central Asia, focused on strategic dialogue and strengthening partnerships.
In his opening address, the Sovereign emphasized the commitment and solidarity of the national societies, highlighting the critical role of regional cooperation in addressing contemporary humanitarian challenges. He also noted the historic ties between the princely family and the Red Cross, which was founded in 1948 by Prince Louis II and has since been led successively by Prince Rainier III, Princess Grace, and now Prince Albert II, alongside Vice-President Princess Charlene and Council of Administration member Camille Gottlieb. The latter has been instrumental in mobilizing younger generations around the institution’s humanitarian values.

Following the meeting, the royal couple engaged in bilateral discussions with Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and S.A. Tunku Puteri, President of the Malaysian Red Crescent. These talks addressed shared priorities within the Movement and reinforced ties among its leaders. The day concluded with a gala dinner at the Yacht Club de Monaco, attended by the princely couple and Camille Gottlieb.
The event underscored Monaco’s ongoing commitment to global humanitarian efforts, rooted in its royal heritage.
