Prince Albert II of Monaco officially inaugurated the Latin American branch of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation on Nov. 7, 2025, during a ceremony in São Paulo attended by Charles Leclerc.
Hosted by Arnaldo Wald, honorary consul of Monaco in Brazil and president of the new branch, the event drew more than 500 distinguished guests from diplomacy, science, philanthropy and civil society, united by a shared commitment to sustainability.
Located in São Paulo, the new office marks the 11th international branch of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. It will bolster the foundation’s engagement across a region renowned for its unparalleled biodiversity and critical role in global ecological balance.

In his address, the sovereign prince expressed gratitude to those who made the milestone possible and underscored the urgency of collective action: “The scientific community continues to sound the alarm, with evidence that is clear, consistent, and irrefutable. Yet we still struggle, collectively, to listen, to accept, and to act.”
With this new branch, the foundation reaffirms its mission to advance environmental protection, promote sustainable development and build a more resilient and equitable future for all.
