As part of his regular travels to sites connected to the history of Monaco's princely family, Prince Albert II visited the Oise department in northern France on Saturday, October 18, underscoring the deep-rooted historical and cultural connections between the two nations.
In the morning, the prince arrived in the commune of Guiscard, where he was welcomed by Mayor Thibault Delavenne. The visit included the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the network of Grimaldi Historical Sites of Monaco. Following a tour of the Marquisate of Guiscard, Prince Albert inaugurated the Grimaldi Communal Cultural Center. The event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of local residents, who gathered to greet the sovereign.

In the afternoon, the prince proceeded to Chantilly, where he was received by Xavier Darcos, chancellor of the Institut de France, at the Château de Chantilly. There, he inaugurated an exhibition titled "From Monaco to Chantilly: A Princess of the Enlightenment in Search of Freedom." The display is dedicated to Marie Catherine de Brignole-Sale, a prominent figure of the 18th century.
The day's itinerary highlighted the enduring historical and cultural attachments between Monaco and France.
