Prince Albert II on Monday inaugurated the newly renamed Auditorium Marc César Scotto at the Académie Rainier III, capping a yearlong renovation that transformed the 75-seat venue into a modern space for artistic and pedagogical excellence.
The ceremony, attended by senior officials including Christophe Mirmand, prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes; Archbishop Dominique-Marie David; Jean-Louis Grinda, vice president of the National Council and director of the Monte-Carlo Opera; and Mayor Georges Marsan, celebrated both the infrastructure upgrade and a tribute to one of Monaco’s own.
Originally part of the Rainier III Academy, the auditorium underwent complete renovation between September 2024 and October 2025. The project, a joint effort between the Prince’s Government and the Monaco Town Hall, was designed to meet the evolving needs of music and dance education while preserving the venue’s intimate character.

The renaming honors Marc César Scotto, a prominent Monegasque composer whose legacy continues to resonate within the principality’s cultural community.
