Princess Charlene, accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, attended the presentation of Monaco’s new Brigade Cynophile on Monday, October 27, at the recently renovated premises of the Public Security Directorate.
The event, held in the presence of Lionel Beffre, Government Counselor-Minister of the Interior; Eric Arella, Director of Public Security; and numerous members of the senior staff and Monegasque officials, showcased the specialized canine unit created at the end of 2024 within the Urban Police Division.
Princess Charlene, who initiated and supported the project, observed presentations of the brigade’s missions, equipment and working conditions before witnessing an outdoor demonstration of the unit’s operational capabilities.
A formal ceremony followed in the Salon d’Honneur, where the princess underscored public security as a foundational pillar of the Principality of Monaco, saluting the professionalism of the Public Security’s men and women. She also highlighted the constant evolution of methods and technologies embodied by the new canine unit.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of police cards and shields to the dog handlers by Princess Charlene.
