Princess Charlene has launched "Water Safety Days" in Léon. On Tuesday, June 11, the Princess Charlene Foundation hosted the inaugural edition of this initiative in the Landes department. Princess Charlene engaged with children from the southwest of France, where introductory workshops in lifesaving and water safety were organized for local youngsters on the Lac de Léon beach.
The workshops were led by Stéphanie Barneix, an ambassador of the Princess Charlene Foundation of Monaco and a world champion in water rescue, along with her team of athletes. This team included three other Foundation ambassadors: Pierre Frolla (free diver), Kevin Crovetto (gymnast), and Jérôme Fernandez (handball player). The sessions were supported by local lifeguards and the Courant d’Huchet nature reserve. These fun and educational workshops welcomed 140 pupils from CM1 (4th grade/UK Year 5) and CM2 (5th grade/Year 6).
Princess Charlene and Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Foundation, were present to assist the children in this engaging initiative. The afternoon featured a presentation about the Foundation and aimed to raise awareness among Léon’s pupils about the importance of education through sport.
