Princess Charlene of Monaco has paid tribute to Giorgio Armani following the death of the Italian designer, describing him as “an emblematic figure in the fashion world” whose creations and influence shaped generations. In a statement released by the Palais Princier de Monaco, Princess Charlene expressed both her sorrow and her personal connection to Armani’s work. Among his many achievements, she noted, was the creation of her wedding dress for her marriage to Prince Albert II in July 2011.
“It is with great sadness that the Prince and I have learnt of the death of Giorgio Armani,” the statement read. “He was an emblematic figure in the fashion world and has created and shaped trends that have influenced generations. Amongst the variety of his works, was also my wedding dress in July 2011. His work and achievements will survive him and continue to be present in the future.”
Princess Charlene’s message underlined Armani’s enduring legacy not only in global fashion but also in Monaco’s royal history.
