Princess Charlène commemorated the 130th anniversary of the Olympic Games at a special event held at the Sorbonne. The celebration featured a concert attended by notable figures such as Thomas Bach, Tony Estanguet, and actress Michelle Yeoh.
The modern Olympic Games were established 130 years ago. To pay tribute to Pierre de Coubertin, the visionary behind the revival of the Games, an extraordinary concert was organized at the Sorbonne in Paris by the Pierre de Coubertin Family Association. This location holds historical significance, as it was in the Sorbonne amphitheater that Pierre de Coubertin proclaimed the rebirth of the Olympic Games on June 23, 1894.
On Sunday, Princess Charlène traveled to Paris to attend the concert, joining Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organizing Committee, and actress and IOC member Michelle Yeoh.
Earlier in the week, Princess Charlène, a former Olympic swimmer who competed in the Sydney Games, participated in the Olympic flame relay in Monaco. She is also passionately committed to sports education and drowning prevention through her Foundation.
