Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, in her capacity as Godmother of the Prince’s Carabinieri, presided over a ceremony at the Moneghetti Barracks to present corps insignia to two new recruits. The event marked a formal induction for Alexandre Bouscary and Bastian Geray, members of the “Jules Rigoard” class.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Colonel Tony Varo, Superior Commander of the Public Force, and Lieutenant-Colonel Maxime Yvrard, Chief of Corps of the Firefighters, along with the families of the new Carabiniers. Following an address by Lieutenant-Colonel Martial Pied, Chief of Corps, and a review of the troops, the recruits were presented with their insignia, which had been blessed by Father Christian Venard, Chaplain of the Public Force.
The new recruits had previously taken an oath to the Sovereign Prince and his family on May 4, 2026. By joining the corps, they committed to the organization’s motto: “Honor, Fidelity, and Devotion”.

The class honors the memory of Jules Rigoard, a historical figure of the Carabinieri Corps who served during the First World War. Rigoard enlisted in the French army in 1914 and fought in the Champagne offensive in 1915. He died on November 4, 1915, after contracting tuberculosis in the line of duty, and is officially recognized as “Mort pour la France”.
