Following calls by elected members of the Conseil National during the 2025 budgetary debates urging the Prince's Government to prioritize material reuse over disposal, a local sustainability initiative has successfully diverted thousands of stadium seats from the waste stream.
Representing the Green Monaco association, Arnaud Somaïni Lallement, Nicolas Ménier, and Florent Fourneau met with parliamentarians at the Conseil National to present a progress report on the project. Through the organization's efforts, 4,100 iconic yellow seats removed during renovations at Stade Louis-II have been redistributed to local authorities, non-profit associations, and private individuals across Monaco and neighboring municipalities.
Legislators commended the association's commitment to circular economy principles and sustainable development, noting that the initiative fulfills parliament's mandate to turn public infrastructure modernizations into actionable environmental stewardship.
