A legendary chapter of Formula 1 will be celebrated in style as Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2001, one of the sport’s most iconic machines, heads to auction in the heart of Monaco during the 2025 Grand Prix weekend.
On May 24, 2025, just moments before the qualifying session roars to life, RM Sotheby’s will present the Ferrari F2001 chassis 211—a true piece of racing history. This marks the first time a Formula 1 car will be auctioned live during the Monaco Grand Prix, adding a unique touch to an already exhilarating weekend.
A Car Woven into Monaco’s Legacy
This particular car holds a special bond with the Principality. In 2001, Schumacher steered this exact chassis to victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, later clinching his fourth World Championship at the Hungarian Grand Prix. It's the only Schumacher-driven Ferrari to secure a win in Monaco and a world title in the same season, making it a standout in Ferrari’s storied racing lineage.
On Display for the Elite
From May 23, members of the exclusive F1 Paddock Club™ will have the rare chance to see this restored marvel up close. Rejuvenated by Ferrari in 2024–2025, the V10-powered masterpiece embodies the golden era of the Scuderia, shaped by masterminds like Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, and Rory Byrne.
A Meaningful Tribute
The sale will also support a noble cause, with part of the proceeds benefiting the Keep Fighting Foundation, continuing Schumacher’s philanthropic legacy. Although the price tag remains unannounced, collectors and F1 fans alike expect bidding to reach record heights—ensuring this extraordinary car, and its Monaco moment, are remembered forever.
