Société des Bains de Mer Charts Global Future After Record Results

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) is looking confidently beyond Monaco’s borders, as CEO Stéphane Valeri outlined an ambitious international strategy following the Group’s stellar financial year. Speaking after the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 19 September, Valeri highlighted strong growth across all sectors and confirmed SBM’s determination to expand its global footprint.

A Year of Milestones

For the 2024–2025 fiscal year, SBM posted turnover of €768 million, up 9% from the previous year. Net profit reached €110.1 million, supported by the reopening of Café de Paris Monte-Carlo in late 2023 and the successful launch of Amazónico in spring 2024. The positive trajectory continued into summer, with revenues climbing 7% year-on-year, underscoring Monaco’s enduring appeal as a destination for luxury hospitality and entertainment.

Ambitious Development in Monaco

At home, SBM is preparing large-scale projects to secure long-term growth. Plans include redeveloping the Casino terraces building into luxury residences and retail, as well as adding four additional floors to the Monte-Carlo Bay to create high-end residential units. The Hôtel Hermitage and Monte-Carlo Bay have already posted exceptional results despite undergoing renovations—evidence, Valeri noted, of Monaco’s resilient tourism market.

Global Horizons

The Group is equally focused on international ventures. In Dubai, SBM will soon unveil a Mediterranean restaurant, while its floating casinos aboard Crystal Cruises ships continue to showcase the Monte-Carlo brand worldwide. In the French Alps, the highly anticipated Monte-Carlo One Courchevel project is officially underway. Scheduled to open for the 2027 ski season, the luxury property will feature Michelin-level dining, a world-class spa, and an alpine Jimmy’z nightclub, with rooms starting at €3,500 per night.

“SBM is evolving from a Monegasque icon into a global benchmark for luxury hospitality,” Valeri affirmed.
