Monaco’s art scene is embracing a master of precision and perspective, as the Hubert Clerissi – Espaces Ciselésexhibition takes center stage at the Salle d’Exposition du Quai Antoine 1er. A tribute to the Monegasque painter and architect, this exhibition immerses visitors in the meticulous world of Clerissi’s architectural cityscapes, where every line tells a story and every structure breathes with an artist’s soul.

More than just a visual retrospective, this celebration of Clerissi’s work extends into an interactive dimension, inviting art enthusiasts of all ages to explore his techniques through a series of free workshops running throughout February and March. These hands-on experiences offer a rare opportunity to not only admire Clerissi’s legacy but to step into his artistic mindset and experiment with the delicate fusion of form and imagination.

Supported by the Mairie de Monaco in collaboration with the Princely Government’s Cultural Affairs Department, the Pavillon Bosio – École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques, and the Villa Arson in Nice, the exhibition presents a carefully curated journey through Clerissi’s artistic evolution. Known for his ability to merge structural discipline with creative expression, his work stands as a testament to Monaco’s enduring artistic heritage.

For those eager to do more than observe, the exhibition’s complementary workshops provide an immersive entryway into Clerissi’s world. Des lignes en folie / ou les cactées, a whimsical exploration of lines and organic forms, will captivate young minds aged five to nine on 26th February, 5th March, and 12th March. Adults will find their own creative haven in Une histoire de timbres, an artistic deep dive into the storytelling power of stamps, set for 10th March.

For those seeking a nostalgic voyage, Le Monaco d’antan on 28th February and 7th March revives the essence of Monaco’s past through art, while Voyager à travers les perspectives—scheduled for 22nd February, 1st March, and 8th March—guides participants through the interplay of depth and dimension, a hallmark of Clerissi’s work.

This exhibition is more than a mere collection of paintings; it is an invitation to see Monaco through the eyes of an artist who mastered the balance between architectural order and artistic freedom. Whether you’re an aficionado of fine art, a student of design, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of structure, Hubert Clerissi – Espaces Ciselés promises an experience as intricate and enduring as the cityscapes that inspired it.

The exhibition runs until 12th March, ensuring ample time for visitors to immerse themselves in Clerissi’s world—one of precision, poetry, and boundless imagination.
