The Municipality of Monaco, in close collaboration with the Office National des Forêts (ONF), celebrated the 15th anniversary of its environmental initiative "1 Birth = 1 Tree." This event underscores the municipal institution's dedication to the environment, reforestation, and the conservation of natural heritage.
Part of the global campaign "A Plant for the Planet," championed by HSH Prince Albert II, the initiative plants a tree for every birth in Monaco. This year, 804 trees will be planted.
To mark the 15th anniversary, a symbolic ceremony was held at the Route de La Turbie modeling track, the first planting site. Attendees included Marjorie Crovetto, Vice-Mayor and Councilor in charge of "Cadre de Vie," Environment, and Sustainable Development; Jean-Jacques Raffaelle, Mayor of La Turbie; and Fabrice Manzone, Deputy Head of the Roya Littorale Est territorial unit of the National Forestry Office.
In her speech, Marjorie Crovetto highlighted, "Every year, nearly 1,000 trees are planted, corresponding to the number of births registered in Monaco by the Civil Registry Office. Since 2008, the total number of trees planted has exceeded 14,000."
