The White Lotus is heading to the French Riviera for its highly anticipated fourth season, with filming now underway across Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
After previous seasons set in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand, the Emmy Award-winning series continues its global journey, this time placing its signature social satire against the glamorous backdrop of the Côte d’Azur. Production officially began on 15th April, with increased casting activity for extras already visible across the region in recent weeks.
The new season is expected to follow a fresh group of guests and staff over the course of a week during the Cannes Film Festival, integrating the event into the storyline. According to industry sources, two prestigious hotels will serve as primary filming locations: Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez and the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, both reimagined under the fictional White Lotus brand.
Scenes are also scheduled to be filmed in Monaco, further reinforcing the Principality’s growing appeal as a setting for major international productions. The announcement follows closely behind news that Emily in Paris will also be filming part of its upcoming season in Monaco.
The cast for season four brings together an international lineup, including Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel and Laura Smet, among others. The production team is expected to remain on location throughout the Cannes Film Festival, with appearances on the red carpet anticipated.
Created by Mike White, the series will return on HBO Max, though an official release date has yet to be announced.
