Under the high patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Yasmine Murat, the World Caviar Awards 2025 took place on Thursday, November 6, at the Yacht Club de Monaco, uniting the world’s foremost experts and producers in a celebration of excellence, sustainability, and shared passion for one of gastronomy’s most exquisite treasures.
This year’s event gathered participants from 20 countries, with 80 caviars in competition across multiple species-based categories - from Oscietra and Baeri to Sevruga and Beluga - each distinguished by its unique size, texture, and flavor. The “Farms” category recognized the world’s leading producing houses, with Oona Caviar (Switzerland) and Lotfi Luxury Caviar (Iran) earning top distinctions, alongside Acadian Sturgeon (Canada) for its mastery of the Acipenser subcategory.
In the “Merchants” category, which honors companies that refine, package, and market caviar sourced from international farms, Luxury Food GmbH (Switzerland) and Caviar de Neuvic (France) led the field, underscoring the increasingly global nature of caviar production and trade.
“Hosting twenty countries here shows how much the Monaco destination inspires enthusiasm and engagement,” said Laurent Morin, founder of the World Caviar Awards. “Our aim is to restore caviar to its rightful place - as an exceptional product, yet accessible to everyone who understands its codes and subtleties.”
Evaluation was meticulous. Christian Garcia, head chef of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and jury member, described the judging process: “We look at the appearance and shine of the eggs, their texture, length on the palate, and of course, taste - the ultimate judge.”

Ethics remained a central theme. “Knowing that the animal was properly cared for and grew in good conditions is a guarantee of quality,” noted Eulalie Rus, Best Craftsman of France and fellow juror.
Reflecting the event’s humanitarian spirit, the organization presented a €5,000 donation to Fight Aids Monaco, the association founded and chaired by H.R.H. Princess Stéphanie, to support its ongoing commitment to the fight against HIV.
All results by category and subcategory are detailed in the official press kit, along with statements from key participants. Following the event’s resounding success, Morin announced that the World Caviar Awards will return to Monaco every two years, ensuring that the Principality remains a hub for global caviar excellence. The next edition is already confirmed for 2027 - a testament to the enduring allure and ethical evolution of this storied delicacy.
