Traffic Disrupted in Monaco After Bus Collision

Traffic was disrupted this Wednesday in Monaco after a bus collided with the structure of the Louis-II tunnel the previous evening.

On the evening of Tuesday, June 25, a tourist bus struck a panel that is part of the underground structure at the entrance to the Louis-II tunnel in Monaco during a maneuver. While waiting for state services to obtain survey results and ensure there is no risk, traffic has been prohibited (except for residents) from just before the Monaco Yacht Club to the Portier roundabout.

While maneuvering at low speed on Tuesday evening at the entrance to the Louis-II tunnel in Monaco, a tourist bus hit a panel that forms part of the underground structure, causing it to crack.

Although there were no injuries from the accident, safety measures were implemented to secure the area, including the installation of barriers and three supports to hold up the structure. Until the state services get the survey results and ensure there are no risks for pedestrians and road users, traffic in the area has been modified.

The road towards the Larvotto district, from just before the Monaco Yacht Club to the Portier roundabout, has been closed to traffic except for residents. A detour has been set up via Avenue d'Ostende.

As for pedestrians, they are supposed to bypass the tunnel Louis-II on the right, but many are ignoring the signs.
