UN – Monaco Reaffirms Support for the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea

During the meeting of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), held from June 10 to 14, 2024, Mr. Florian Botto, First Secretary at Monaco's Permanent Mission to the UN, reaffirmed the Principality's full commitment to ocean protection, combating the effects of climate change, and advancing marine science.

Monaco became the first European state to ratify the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity last May, showcasing its dedication to ensuring that the oceans are adequately protected for the future.

The Principality will host the Blue Economy and Finance Forum on June 7 and 8, 2025, just before the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal dedicated to the oceans.
