Vacherot Advances to Adelaide Quarterfinals on Kokkinakis Forfeit

ADELAIDE, Australia - Valentin Vacherot, the Monegasque tennis player, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Adelaide tournament on Thursday without stepping onto the court, following the withdrawal of his scheduled opponent, Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Kokkinakis, an Australian competing in front of his home crowd, forfeited the match due to a shoulder injury sustained during his previous victory over Sebastian Korda. The injury forced him to retire, marking a significant disappointment for the local favorite.

Vacherot, undeterred, now sets his sights on the semifinals. He is slated to face the tournament's top seed, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain, in Friday's quarterfinal matchup.
