What started as a small Monaco-based company has now set its sights on the Moon. Venturi, a brand renowned for its cutting-edge innovation, is celebrating 20 years of technological milestones and is now developing a lunar rover set to explore the Moon’s surface in 2026.
Founded in 2004, Venturi made headlines by introducing the world’s first 100% electric sports car, the Venturi Fétish, at a time when electric vehicles were still in their infancy. Under the leadership of CEO Gildo Pastor, the company embraced the emerging technology of electric mobility, positioning itself as a pioneer in the industry.
Two decades later, Venturi has evolved into a leader in innovation with 26 world speed records, groundbreaking concept cars, and participation in eight Formula E world championships. In addition to these achievements, Venturi launched three polar exploration vehicles and supplies power for thousands of vehicles in partnership with the PSA Group.
However, Venturi’s vision extends beyond Earth. Since 2021, its subsidiary Venturi Space has focused on space exploration. In collaboration with American company Venturi Astrolab, the brand is developing wheels and batteries for a lunar rover, which is scheduled for a 2026 launch aboard SpaceX’s Starship rocket. There is also potential for the rover to be part of NASA’s Artemis mission in 2029.
Reflecting on the company's journey, CEO Gildo Pastor remarked, "Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that our industrial expertise would one day be applied across two planets."
From its early days as an electric car innovator in Monaco to its current role in space exploration, Venturi continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible, proving that even a small company can make a giant leap.
