Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, has made it to the finals of the prestigious "Monument préféré des Français" competition. The winner will be revealed in the show hosted by Stéphane Bern.
For the fourth consecutive year, the French public had the opportunity to vote for the monument representing their region. This year, the stunning villa and gardens of Ephrussi de Rothschild will represent the Alpes-Maritimes.
The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild’s inclusion in the finals is well-deserved. The villa boasts incredible pieces from the private collection of Béatrice de Rothschild, including Louis XVI furniture, painted woodwork, Gobelins tapestries, Meissen and Sèvres porcelain, and artworks by Tiepolo, Boucher, and Fragonard. The site also offers breathtaking views of the sea and meticulously maintained gardens in various styles, including Spanish, Florentine, and Japanese.
To claim the coveted title of "Monument préféré des Français 2024," Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild must secure more votes than the other 14 monuments in the competition. The winner will be announced in September, right before Heritage Days, during a special broadcast.
Voting is open from July 12 to July 24, midnight, exclusively on the France TV website: francetelevisions.fr.
Beyond its architectural splendor, the villa offers an exquisite summer program. Visitors can enjoy a gourmet dinner crafted by Chef Aude Romero (a three-course set menu) in the Jardin de Sèvres, overlooking the Bay of Villefranche. Additionally, the villa hosts enchanting evening events every Monday and Tuesday throughout the summer.
From July 15 to August 27, 2024, starting at 8 PM, the villa transforms for the "Nocturnes 2024" series. Under the glow of candles lighting up the paths and fountains of the French Garden, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor performances. Seated on the lawns, visitors will be treated to live music, dance, piano recitals, and orchestral concerts, creating unforgettable summer nights.
