Werner Herzog Brings Bucking Fastard to the 83rd Venice International Film Festival

Director Werner Herzog returned to the Lido on Wednesday for the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, presenting his latest dramatic feature, Bucking Fastard, in competition.

The film, written and directed by Herzog, is loosely based on the lives of Freda and Greta Chaplin and centers on the complex lives of twin sisters Jean and Joan Holbrooke. The production features a star-studded principal cast including Kate Mara, Rooney Mara, Orlando Bloom, and Domhnall Gleeson.

During the official photocall for the Venice Biennale selection, Herzog was joined by members of the cast, drawing substantial international attention as one of the marquee auteur offerings in this year's competition lineup.
